In an age where businesses proudly advertise every prestigious client and every major commission, Bronzecraft Ltd often finds itself in the unusual position of doing exactly the opposite.
Over the years, we have had the privilege of producing bronze sculpture for some of the world’s most respected contemporary sculptors, including three Turner Prize winners. We have also worked with many internationally recognised artists whose work can be found in museums, public collections and leading galleries around the world.
Yet much of that work will never appear on our website.
The reason is simple: trust.
Many of our clients require strict confidentiality, and Bronzecraft Ltd honours every Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) we sign. While these agreements mean we cannot publicly reveal many of the artists or sculptures we have helped create, they also demonstrate something far more valuable than publicity—they demonstrate complete confidence in our professionalism.
Fortunately, one notable exception is the internationally acclaimed sculptor Michael Dean, runner-up for the 2016 Turner Prize. Michael has kindly given Bronzecraft permission to acknowledge our association, and we are proud to have worked alongside an artist of his international standing. His generosity allows us to mention our relationship, something many other artists are understandably unable to do.
Why So Much Secrecy?
People are often surprised that artists do not want photographs of their work appearing online while it is still being created.
The answer lies in the world of fine art itself.
Many sculptures spend months, and sometimes years, in development before they are finally unveiled. During that time, the artwork remains highly confidential.
In many cases, the artist’s representing gallery also prefers complete secrecy until the official launch. Galleries invest significant time and resources preparing exhibitions, announcements and marketing campaigns. They want collectors, critics and the public to experience the sculpture for the very first time within the gallery or exhibition space.
Many galleries also believe that allowing unfinished or unreleased work to circulate online beforehand diminishes the sense of anticipation and mystery surrounding a new exhibition. The mystique of discovering a sculpture for the first time, exactly as the artist intended, is considered an important part of the experience.
For that reason, foundries are often asked to keep projects entirely confidential until long after the public unveiling—and sometimes permanently.
Custodians of Creative Ideas
A bronze foundry is much more than a place where molten metal is poured.
We become temporary custodians of some of the most important creative work an artist will ever produce.
Often we see sculptures before anyone else outside the artist’s own studio.
That privilege carries enormous responsibility.
Every mould, every wax, every casting and every finished bronze is treated with complete discretion.
For Bronzecraft, confidentiality is not an inconvenience.
It is one of the foundations upon which lasting professional relationships are built.
Working With the World’s Leading Sculptors
Elite sculptors demand extraordinary standards.
Many notice details invisible to the average observer—a tiny surface imperfection, a subtle change in texture, or the slightest variation in patina.
Bronze sculpture is expected to survive for centuries.
There is little room for compromise.
Whether we are producing work for an internationally recognised Turner Prize winner or an emerging sculptor creating their very first commission, our standards remain exactly the same.
Every mould matters.
Every casting matters.
Every finish matters.
Because every sculpture represents years of an artist’s imagination and dedication.
A Reputation Built on Trust
Unlike many industries, the fine art world operates largely through reputation and recommendation.
Artists recommend foundries to fellow artists.
Curators recommend specialists.
Museum conservators remember companies that consistently deliver exceptional work.
These recommendations are rarely public, but they are immensely valuable.
Over many years, Bronzecraft has quietly built relationships with artists at the very highest level of contemporary sculpture.
Although we cannot reveal many of those names, we believe our willingness to honour confidentiality speaks louder than any marketing campaign ever could.
Sometimes Silence Says More Than Advertising
Some visitors may wonder why our published portfolio does not contain every prestigious commission we have completed.
The answer is straightforward.
Many simply cannot be shown.
Breaking confidentiality for publicity would betray the trust placed in us by artists, galleries and collectors alike.
No amount of marketing is worth damaging that trust.
Our clients know that when they place a sculpture in our hands, they can be confident that both the artwork and the conversations surrounding it remain confidential.
That confidence has been earned over many years and is something we value enormously.
Quality Without Favour
One principle has always guided Bronzecraft Ltd.
Every artist deserves the very best work we can produce.
Whether casting for a student creating their first bronze or an internationally celebrated sculptor whose work is collected around the world, every commission receives exactly the same care, attention and craftsmanship.
Fame should never determine quality.
The sculpture should.
Looking Beyond Recognition
Some of the finest sculptures we have ever helped create may never appear on our website.
Visitors may admire them in museums, galleries, sculpture parks or private collections without ever knowing they passed through our foundry.
That is perfectly acceptable.
The artist deserves the recognition.
Our role has always been to help transform creative vision into enduring bronze.
If the finished sculpture inspires future generations, then we have fulfilled our part of that journey.
The Greatest Compliment
Perhaps the greatest compliment any foundry can receive is not permission to advertise its clients.
Perhaps it is being trusted with work that must remain confidential.
At Bronzecraft Ltd, we are proud that internationally recognised sculptors—including Turner Prize winners—have entrusted us with their work.
We are equally proud that artists, galleries and collectors know we will always respect that confidence.
In a world where everyone wants to tell their story, sometimes the strongest reputation is built on knowing when not to tell it.
